Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift position in an acute Emergency Department, requiring a WA or compact RN license and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in a freestanding hybrid Emergency and Urgent Care setting with 8 beds, including 1 trauma / resuscitation room and a designated triage roomCare for a mixed patient population with an estimated 90-100 patients per day, including approximately 60% urgent care and 40% emergency casesPatient ratios are 3 : 1 for emergency patients, with varied ratios for urgent care casesNight shifts are 12 hours, scheduled from 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30am, with 24 hours per weekEvery other weekend required and holiday coverage is assigned by rotationNo floating or on-call requirementsCharting is completed using Epic EMRTelemonitoring is present; RNs read telemetry strips as there are no monitor techsER nurses manage their own holds with all admissions transferred promptly due to limited bed availabilityPosition supported by charge nurse and an RN / LPN mix; in-house security available 24 / 7Unit is equipped with a ventilator but no respiratory therapist on siteX-ray and CT available on unitScrub color is flexible; any color scrubs are permittedFirst-time travelers will be considered for this roleHoliday rotation required among all staffRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experienceCurrent certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NRP, TNCC, and NIHSSProficiency with Epic preferredTypical ER RN skill set required, including triage and rapid patient assessmentMust submit two professional references : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and another from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license required for employment considerationBenefits
