As an Assistant Store Manager, you will work with the Store Manager to develop outstanding associates, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and contribute to growth across Bath & Body Works. Responsibilities

  • Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
  • Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates.
  • Perform leadership tasks as delegated by the store manager, including acting as manager on duty to address customer experience, vendor relationships, or maintenance issues.
  • Partner with the sales leadership team to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities.
  • Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
  • Perform opening and closing routines including bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpretation / dissemination of company directives.
  • Set the direction and goals for the day / shift when associates arrive for work.
  • Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
  • Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus.
  • Lead exceptional in-store customer experiences through selling behaviors rooted in Our Values and product knowledge.
  • Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs, sharing product information, demonstrations, and personalized recommendations.
  • Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
  • Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
  • All store positions require physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. Associates may climb ladders, lift, reach, bend, and kneel to obtain products and maintain store appearance. Ability to lift 10 pounds consistently and up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging experience by adhering to safety standards and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a manager role, preferably in a retail setting.
  • Thrives in a customer-first based retail environment.
  • Ability to foster a customer-focused selling culture.
  • Effective communication skills, openness to feedback, and adaptability.
  • Ability to provide in-the-moment coaching to associates.
  • Ability to de-escalate store and customer situations effectively.
  • Must be available to work peak days and times, including varied shifts of evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Education

  • High school diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience.
