Building Services Supervisor
Under general supervision of management, responsible for planning and scheduling tasks for building service workers, including assisting with training, building inspections, and performance evaluation of the team. Interaction with appropriate vendors, procurement of products and equipment as needed. Supervise and inspect the work of building service workers and perform related tasks to provide a safe and clean environment. This is an essential staff position in Hospitality Services and is necessary for food production / service operations through weather or other emergency conditions.
Job Duties :
- Assign and supervise housekeeping tasks of building service workers to be performed, including but not limited to, public areas, such as lavatories, private offices, and exterior perimeter of the building.
- Conduct inspections and evaluate the quality of work.
- Participate in periodic heavy cleaning tasks and routine housekeeping duties.
- Ability to reprioritize daily operations / scheduling due to changing environment during various months of the year, which include snow removal, trash / debris clean up around the facility.
- Check in with the Hospitality Supervisor on duty, to see what tasks need immediate attention.
- Required to reprioritize and be flexible on a daily basis to assist with overall food service and operational priorities based on business needs.
- Oversee safe use of cleaning equipment and supplies, as well as daily maintenance.
- Training and coaching staff on tasks, chemical use, and safety.
- Perform weekly inspections of chemical storage, ensuring proper labeling and chemical content.
- Responsible for enforcing and monitoring safety rules, practices, and procedures, addressing and correcting any concerns immediately.
- Inventory and ordering of supplies, chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Work with appropriate vendors to evaluate products / equipment, as well as safety procedures, and establish procedures for cost-effective improvements.
- Prepare and maintain necessary records to include SDS sheets.
- Perform monthly audits of equipment to maintain and report any repairs that interfere with daily tasks.
- Other duties as assigned, including shutdown deep cleaning of facility.
- Annual reviews written and delivered to assigned team members.
- Based on business needs, position will be required to assist with production and service requirements, as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications :
Thorough knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning materials, and equipment.Ability to supervise and work with a diverse team in a professional manner.Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.Must be able to physically meet the demands of the position including lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing loads up to 50lbs.Knowledge of bloodborne pathogen kit usageServSafe CertifiedKnowledge of Spanish languageLocation : Durham
