Trustaff is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Newburgh, Indiana.

Stepdown / Tele RN Float pool

NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Float Requirement : First to float within skillset. Potential float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & Deaconess Gateway (IN - 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

Experience REQUIRED : Three years as RN - including one solid year of stepdown / PCU experience, 1 travel assignment. Charting Experience : Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class) Patient Population : Stepdown / PCU patient population, including drips (insulin, heparin, cardiac, etc.). Sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia. Surgical - urology, abdominal, ortho. Skillset : Required : Tele interpretation (TRAVELERS REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), initiate / titrate insulin, heparin, cardiac drips. Preferred : PIV insertion, stable home vents, chest tube / indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (lasix, protonix), blood product administration, continous BiPap, drain management, Neutropenic precautions. Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Unit Information : SDU - 10 beds;

Ratio : NOCs 1 : 5-6. CN rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift. Unit Strengths : Excellent retention and experience on unit. Smaller facility with great team work and a seasoned nursing staff.
