We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled EL Interventionist to join our team and support English Learners (ELs) in developing English proficiency and achieving academic success across all content areas.
Position Overview : The EL Interventionist will work closely with students, teachers, and school leadership to provide targeted English language development and academic support to multilingual learners. This role focuses on identifying language and learning gaps, delivering small-group or individualized instruction, and collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure that EL students can access grade-level curriculum. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language development, culturally responsive instruction, and supporting students in reaching proficiency in English while mastering academic content.
Responsibilities : Identify and assess English Learners' language proficiency levels and academic needs using appropriate tools (e.g., WIDA, ACCESS, or district assessments). Provide individualized and small-group English language development instruction aligned with WIDA English Language Development (ELD) standards. Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify lessons, materials, and assessments for language accessibility. Monitor and document student progress through ongoing assessments, data tracking, and regular communication with staff and families. Support teachers in implementing strategies that promote English language acquisition and academic engagement within the general education classroom. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about language development progress and ways to support learning at home. Participate in the creation and maintenance of Individual Language Plans (ILPs) and ensure compliance with federal and state EL regulations. Attend professional development on culturally responsive teaching, second-language acquisition, and instructional best practices for multilingual learners. Maintain accurate and timely records of EL student data, progress, and interventions.
Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (TESOL, ESL, Linguistics, or similar). Knowledge of second-language acquisition, sheltered instruction, and WIDA standards. Experience working with English Learners or multilingual students in an instructional setting. Strong communication, collaboration, and cultural competency skills. Ability to use student data to inform instructional practices.
Preferred Qualifications : State certification or endorsement in ESL, TESOL, or Bilingual Education. Experience with Response to Intervention (RTI) or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for English Learners. Familiarity with ACCESS testing, WIDA tools, and EL compliance requirements. Experience integrating technology to support language and content instruction.
