Quality Manager

About the Opportunity

A well-established, high-volume food manufacturer in the Southwestern Indiana region is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee plant-level quality and food safety programs. This hands-on leadership role ensures compliance with company, customer, and government standards while driving continuous improvement and maintaining product excellence.

The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in food production quality systems , including HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and USDA / FDA compliance , and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all quality assurance programs for the facility, ensuring compliance with company and customer expectations.

Oversee inspections, testing, and audits for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.

Maintain and improve HACCP, SSOP, and GMP programs; ensure timely corrective actions.

Partner with production and sanitation leadership to ensure plant-wide adherence to quality and safety standards.

Support external and internal audits, including SQF, USDA, and FDA.

Review documentation for pre-shipment, CCPs, and validation studies.

Train, mentor, and develop QA technicians and plant personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.

5+ years of QA experience in a food manufacturing .

HACCP certification required; SQF certification preferred.

Strong working knowledge of USDA / FDA regulations.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quality data analysis.
