• Location : Weirton, WV 26062 (West Virginia healthcare jobs)\n
• Facility Type : Acute Care Hospital – Cardiac Stepdown Unit (30 beds)\n
• Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment\n
• Start Date : October 17, 2025\n
• End Date : January 16, 2026\n
• Contract Length : 13 weeks\n
• Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week\n
• Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7 : 00am–7 : 00pm), weekends as scheduled\n
• Scheduling : 4-week rotation; every other weekend required\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary : $1860–$2000\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (West Virginia or compact state)\n
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or cardiac nursing experience\n
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and titration of cardiac drips\n
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips\n
• Willingness to float to other inpatient units as needed\n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n
• Deliver direct patient care to cardiac, post-pneumonia, post-cath lab, seizure, and ETOH-CIWA protocol patients\n
• Monitor and titrate cardiac drips (cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, angiomax)\n
• Perform ADLs, vital signs, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, and blood glucose checks\n
• Troubleshoot and manage respiratory equipment as appropriate\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, nurse aides, respiratory therapists, and monitor techs\n
• Document patient care using Cerner Soarian electronic charting system\n
