Medical Technologist II

Department : Pathology - Core Lab

Location : Cary, North Carolina

Shift : Nights; Monday – Friday, 1 : 00PM – 9 : 00 PM

Salary : $28–$35 / hour, depending on experience

Overview :

Lighthouse is seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist II to join a top client of ours with the Core Lab team in Cary, NC. In this role, you will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. You will utilize a variety of laboratory instruments, equipment, and computer systems to generate accurate patient results and provide critical data for clinical decision-making.

The ideal candidate will exercise considerable independent judgment within the scope of established methods, perform quality control procedures, and help maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of new procedures, instrumentation, and process improvements. You may also oversee or coordinate lab functions related to safety, regulatory compliance, quality control, performance improvement, or staff development. As a Medical Technologist II, you will help train new employees and students and serve as a resource for less experienced team members.

Licensure / Certification :

Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) preferred

Education Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required

OR

Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a NAACLS-accredited program recognized by the ASCP Board as qualifying for the MLT required

OR

Bachelor's Degree in a related field required with certification / licensure obtained within 6 months of hire

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience performing moderate and high complexity testing preferred
