Job Title

This position is responsible for :

  • Plans, implements, supervises, and participates in the day-to-day administration of the Sage Accounting Program for an assigned region by using a functionalized double-entry accounting package.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supervises Accountants and provides direction to local accounting staff to ensure proper internal control is established, to ensure proper accounting principles are followed, and to maintain reporting system which provides up to date and accurate financial information for Corps Officer and DHQ.
  • Establishes Sage accounting program for Corps in the region in a manner set out by the Division.
  • Assists and reviews assigned region with preparing and reviewing of the annual budget.
  • Provides overall supervision and review of accounting records, ledgers and statements for accuracy and completeness including but not limited to the preparation of journals, various ledger activity, maintenance and supervision of the chart of accounts, required cash logs, and custodian of all financial reports.
  • Prepares fiscal closing statements including required reports and statements; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
  • Work involves traveling to various locations in assigned region where there may be physical discomforts associated with travel.
  • Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
  • What We Are Looking For In You :

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, and four years progressively responsible experience performing double-entry computerized accounting work with Great Plains accounting experience preferred and two years' experience supervising subordinate accounting staff, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid State Driver's License.
