Summary
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will work closely with our attorneys, providing support before, during, and after trials.
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda.
- E-file all court documents in state and federal courts.
- Communicate with clients, courts, counsel, and others.
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations.
- Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses.
- Draft and serve summons.
- Coordinate and summarize depositions.
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and file them with the court.
- Perform administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and discovery requests.
- Gather relevant information from various sources.
- Liaise between trial teams and internal / external third parties.
- Prepare witnesses.
- Assist with case settlements.
Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred).2+ years of litigation experience (required).Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred).Experience in Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Premises Liability, or other injury-related practice areas (preferred).Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload positively with minimal supervision.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings.Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures.Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Extensive computer and database skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at least 35 wpm.Morgan & Morgan offers an excellent benefits package including medical and dental insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and holidays.
