What To Expect
The Tesla Nevada Construction Engineering team is seeking a Manager of Construction to play a critical role in construction projects. This person will manage a high performing team focused on company critical projects related to vehicle production. The manager will work cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders, interface with end users, and the manufacturing engineering team to ensure delivery of projects under schedule and under budget.
What You'll Do
- Successfully deliver large, design build, and self-performed construction projects
- Ensure on time, or ahead of time delivery of construction projects, enabling your teams to solve problems and prioritize execution
- Promote a safe and quality driven culture, both project and company wide
- Coach and mentor counterparts and subordinates on excellence in the construction industry
- Use efficient and aesthetic communication methods to escalate roadblocks or communicate successes as necessary
- Employ a can-do attitude, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aligned to the project's goals
- Provide the best product for your respective project's customer or end users, keeping projects moving forward and fixing concerns as they arise
- Foster an innovative environment amongst your team's and those within the EPC group to help Tesla succeed in accelerating the worlds transition to sustainable energy
- Provide strategic input into the construction organization, setting your teams future up for growth and success
What You'll Bring
Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience7-10 years of experience on large commercial or industrial construction projectsExcellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a mustAdvanced knowledge and proven delivery on Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Safety and Controls scopesAbility to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and executionWillingness to get your hands dirty as needed to complete objectives and lead your times through challenging projectsAbility to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goalsHave an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learnCapacity to work long hours on demanding projects in high stress environmentsBenefits
