Adjunct - Film & Video Production Instructor

Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, Film & Video Production, performs the following functions :

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides Instructional Services

  • Introduce students to filmmaking fundamentals : camera recording, audio, lighting, producing, and film history.
  • Assist in developing course outcomes and curriculum aligned with college and department goals.
  • Convey course outcomes and expectations to students.
  • Organize and manage instructional activities using learner-centered methods.
  • Evaluate student learning fairly and maintain accurate records.
  • Post and maintain office hours compatible with student schedules.
  • Submit grades timely and participate in college evaluation systems.
  • Regularly update courses and contribute to student achievement assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet departmental goals.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Masters Degree preferred; Bachelors degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours relevant to the discipline.
  • Evidence of professional development in the field.
  • Excellent communication and technology skills.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of subject area, educational theory, and learners.
  • Commitment to learner-centered education.
  • Confidentiality, caring attitude, and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of college resources, organizational structure, and programs.
  • Openness to feedback, attention to detail, flexibility, teamwork, and ability to prioritize.
  • Positive attitude and knowledge of safe working conditions.
