Overview
This is an advanced-level position involving technician work with a structural materials field team. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to : performing Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) to design cathodic protection systems or create cracking maps for structures; providing construction inspection and support for cathodic protection projects; assisting the construction project team, maintaining the quality of corrosion prevention systems on bridges and other structures; conducting field testing and sampling; and communicating with District and Contractor personnel and providing technical support.

Minimum Qualification : High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office programs and Computer Aided Design & Drafting software. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to operate hand and power tools.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with CADD and field construction, knowledge of safety procedures, familiarity with structural materials, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, proficiency with computers and Microsoft software, and experience using both hand and power tools. This position is part of the Field Operations unit within the Corrosion and Composite Materials Team.
