Are you excited to play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications, along with their operating systems and databases? As a Systems Engineer III at Spectrum, you will manage the Application Administration of OSS applications across all Spectrum Divisions, engaging in the full life cycle of systems engineering activities to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Coordinate with internal departments to assess integration capabilities, data sources, and solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality.
- Conduct design sessions with architects and engineers; create detailed design documents and functional specifications for new applications and services.
- Collaborate on configuration designs for various environments and create work effort estimates for new features and bug fixes for prioritization and release management.
- Responsible for all engineering activities relating to video services, including frequency changes, channel map updates, ESS standardization, NE3K maintenance and support, new design build outs and supporting DAC network security.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the video control plane and associated encryption systems, support components such as the Enterprise Controllers (DAC, EC), Network Encryptors (NEs), RADDs, Out-of-band Modulators (OMs), Anycast, SVOM and MAS.
- Ensure accurate implementation of configuration changes and updates across systems to maintain service quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve video delivery and encryption issues including participating in Tier 4 On Call support rotation.
- Develop core code modules, unit test tools, and release notes for enhancements and bug fixes, and review development tools for functionality.
- Install, configure, administer, and provide on-call support for OSS applications, using established change management processes to minimize customer impact.
- Work with database administrators to configure, tune and maintain databases, and document systems configurations, upgrades, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor and manage applications, device availability, network conditions, system reliability, performance, service and program maintenance, and storage resources.

Required QualificationsEducation : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications.
Experience : 5+ years of application development work experience, 4+ years of network OSS application work experience, 3+ years of system administration work experience, 3+ years of database support and development work experience, 3+ years of enterprise application integration work experience.Skills : Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, Advanced ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality and create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications.Preferred QualificationsEducation : CCNA / CCNP or equivalent, CCIE Data Center or equivalent, CCIE Routing and Switching or equivalent.
