This role is based out of our El Cajon maintenance branch and will support a high-end client property La Jolla. Professionalism and exceptional attention to detail are key to success in this position.

Highlights of What You’ll Do :

Build strong relationships with customers through communication and service, ensuring quality and timely project delivery
Supervise crew members as needed, including morning dispatch, performance management, addressing complaints, and assigning workloads
Conduct proactive site quality reviews and communicate findings internally and externally
Assist the branch team in achieving objectives for quality, retention, growth, and profitability

Horticulturists are responsible for garden maintenance of native landscapes and perform the following tasks : natural pruning, habitat management, invasive species control, light repair of irrigation systems, monitoring wildlife, pest and diseases and interacting with the public in the gardens. We are looking for an individual who enjoys all aspects of organic horticulture, native landscapes and being strategically hands-on in a gardening position. Ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in overall plants, regional ecologies and sustainable gardening practices. Effective communication with clients and team members is required.

Skills & experience that are necessary as a Horticulturist will include, but not limited to :

Experience and knowledge of care and needs of a variety of plant materials, work experience with organic gardening methods and coastal environments.

Experience working on and maintaining golf courses is a plus.

Ability to talk about plants to general public, use hand tools, such as pruning shears, load and operate a blower and a hand rake, operate of a motor vehicle, must have CA Driver’s license

Bilingual (Spanish) a plus, able to work eight hours or more per day, with breaks necessary, for 5 days a week (it may require working overtime & on the weekends), able to work under direct sunlight for long periods of time, able to carry 40 pounds (bags of fertilizer, mulch, etc.), able to load / unload a trailer full of burlaps up to 50 pounds, able to bend, stoop and twist throughout the day

Salary Range :

$33.00 - $34.00 per hour (specific compensation may vary based on overall skills, experience and location).
