PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location : Asheville, NC – North Carolina nursing jobs Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680 - $1800 Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – G7 Floor Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment Shift : 12 Hour Nights (6 : 45PM - 7 : 15AM) Hours per Week : 36 Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025, End : 2 / 2 / 2026) Weekend Requirement : 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts in a 6-week period Dress Code : Navy blue scrubs PCU RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or step-down nursing experience Proficient in tracheostomy care and clinical support Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required) Experience with Cerner EMR (preferred) Strong clinical competence and flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare setting PCU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care in a 23-bed step-down and 16-bed med-surg unit Manage patient ratios : 1 : 3-4 (step-down), 1 : 4-6 (med-surg) Perform and assist with procedures including trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes Utilize advanced equipment such as patient lifts, cardiac drips, and provide care for stable vented patients Document all patient care activities using Cerner EMR Float to other medical-surgical and progressive care units as needed Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, RNs, and patient care technicians (PCTs) Apply now to join our healthcare team in Asheville, NC, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
