Job Description :

The Full-Time Classroom Special Education Teacher will be responsible for implementing lesson plans for students with developmental disabilities in accordance with NYSED Guidelines.

  • 12 month position (school calendar plus 6 week summer session)
  • Hours : 8 : 00 - 3 : 00 Monday to Friday
  • 12 month salary : Commensurate with Education and experience
  • Bachelors : $55,000-$58,000
  • Masters : $58,000-$63,000
  • Medical, dental, vision and Aflac plans available; generous PTO; paid school breaks and holidays; 403B plan
  • Discounted Child Care (full or part time) available on-site

The successful candidate will possess :

  • NYSED certification : Students with Disabilities Birth - Grade 2 and / or Students with Disabilities 1-6
  • Ability to develop and implement differentiated instruction in accordance with NYSED standards
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis highly preferred
  • Bi-lingual a plus
