Research Engineer II

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Research Engineer II to provide research support administration services for our government customer in San Antonio, TX

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Resolve novel systems and identify engineering problems which require the development of new techniques or the innovative application of new state-of-the-art technology.
• Provides support in professional biomedical engineering functions involving medical research practices to support the laboratory's efforts.
• Coordinate all design phases with contractor personnel (lab / project managers, other engineers, and technical support personnel).
• Direct the integration, fabrication, and functional testing of systems after installation to ensure that performance meets specifications and protocol requirements.
• Sets up, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment in accordance with research protocols.
• Researches and collects data through complex laboratory / scientific experiments, techniques, and procedures.
• Assists in the maintenance of a clean and operational lab space.
• Assists in ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies for research.
• Compiles and analyzes data using scientific or statistical techniques.
• Assists with writing and editing material for publication and presentation.
• Reports on status of research activities.
• Routes administrative paperwork related to scientific products.
• Maintains data and records securely, including the use of an assigned laboratory notebook.
• Develop models of fluid flow in air and liquid systems.

REQUIRED DEGREE / EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION :

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years' related experience, or a master's degree plus demonstrable experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

Maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation); or equivalent.
