Key responsibilities :

  • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts across multiple locations and systems.
  • Monitor and record inventory transactions, including purchases, transfers, returns, adjustments, and shrinkage.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in analyzing inventory variances and identifying root causes of discrepancies.
  • Partner with operations and supply chain to ensure physical inventory counts (cycle counts and full counts) are completed and properly reflected in financial
  • records.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations of inventory transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures related to inventory.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements related to inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory records.
  • Review of Intercompany material accounts and sales.
  • Review the average cost of inventory transactions.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably with inventory experience in a manufacturing, retail, or distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted average).
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (Acumatica and Velixo a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPA or working towards certification is a plus.
  • Experience with cost accounting, standard costing, or manufacturing accounting.
  • Familiarity with inventory audit procedures and internal controls.
