Job Description :

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Core responsibilities include :

  • Assisting in preparing annual cost reports for regulatory compliance, including Medicaid and Medicare.
  • Collaborating with the accounting team to support monthly and annual close processes.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and reviewing purchasing files and records, including requisitions, contracts, vendor orders, and inventory tracking.
  • Monitoring expenses, ensuring invoices are properly coded, and analyzing costs for accuracy.
  • Reviewing journal entries to identify and resolve anomalies or inconsistencies.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly and quarterly accounting and financial reports for management.
  • Supporting leadership with special projects, workflow improvements, and policy or process recommendations.
  • Managing aspects of the procurement process, including developing strategies for acquisition, receiving, and tracking project materials.
  • Providing backup support to Accounts Payable and Payroll functions when needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by accounting leadership.

Qualifications : Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience :

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, cost accounting, or financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting regulatory reporting or healthcare-related accounting a plus.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
