Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Completion of an accredited program of nursingAssociate's degree in nursingPreferredBachelor's degree in nursing
Master's degree in nursingExperience :
PreferredTwo (2) or more years of experience in nursing
Certification / Licensure :
Required
All Units :Registered Nurse (RN), with Authorization to Practice in the State of Texas
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required with ninety (90) days of start dateNeonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certification required within six (6) months of start dateBreastfeeding Education :Texas 10 Step required within ninety (90) days of start date
Basic Breastfeeding Class required within one (1) year of start dateAdvanced Breastfeeding Class required within one (2) year of start datePediatrics (in addition to the above)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one (1) year of start datePreferred
Relevant national certificationAdvanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Certification for relevant units
