ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Underwrites Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA Residential mortgage loan requests that binds bank for commitment.Recommends improvements to institution’s residential lending policies and procedures.Evaluate loan risks through application information and request additional information as necessary.Verify application information against loan criteria guidelines and standards.Make loan eligibility decisions and approving or rejecting application.Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines.Document and effectively communicating reasons for the approval / denial of loans. Respond to questions, queries and requests with suitable information.Evaluate residential mortgage loans risk on a timely basis based on sound underwriting decisions.Provide prompt, quality service to originating branches and correspondents professionally.Upgrade information or processing and underwriting systems to verify, add, delete or waive conditions.Authorized to underwrite all conventional and jumbo loans to delegated authority.Respond to product questions and scenarios with suitable answers.Assist in training new underwriters.Provides the best service to our customers with innovative and creative solutions.J O B REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related area preferred.Five to seven years of experience in all areas of the residential mortgage lending area preferred.CP Loan experience not required, but preferredExcellent computer, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Good understanding of financial institution products and services.Ability to deal with time constraints and strong attention to detail.Extended hours sitting and performing computer tasks may be required.Employees confirm they are able to perform the essential functions of this position to continue employment with First Federal Bank.Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
