Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for a Leave of Absence Administrator & Benefits Specialist. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end administration of employee leave programs and providing day-to-day support for benefits operations. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws while delivering exceptional service and guidance to employees throughout the leave and benefits experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, empathetic, and collaborative, with a strong understanding of leave and benefits compliance and best practices.
Responsibilities :
Leave of Absence Administration
- Administer all aspects of employee leave programs, including FMLA, PFML, disability, parental leave, and company-specific policies.
- Provide consultative guidance to employees and managers on leave options, pay continuation, benefit impacts, and return-to-work procedures.
- Partner closely with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Legal, and third-party vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant leave processing.
- Complete payroll-related tasks to ensure accurate pay and benefit continuation during leaves.
- Communicate leave decisions and updates with empathy, clarity, and consistency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and the employee experience.
- Develop and maintain intranet content, presentations, and educational materials to increase employee understanding of leave programs.
- Participate in vendor transitions, system testing, and process optimization initiatives.
Benefits Administration
Support the daily administration of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, FSA, and 401(k).Process life event and status change forms to ensure accurate and timely benefits updates in accordance with plan rules and regulatory requirements.Assist with the planning and execution of annual benefits open enrollment, including employee communications and system support.Collaborate with benefits vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve employee inquiries and ensure high-quality service delivery.Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in leave administration, benefits coordination, or related HR function; experience in a complex, multi-state organization preferred.Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PFML, and related federal and state regulations.Intermediate Excel to include Pivot TablesExperience working with HRIS and leave administration systems; Workday experience a plus.Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate employee support.Proven ability to work cross-functionally and maintain confidentiality.
