Overview :

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinatorfor the IMCU- Stroke Telemetry unit .This is a Full-Time night (12 hour) shift position in Charlottesville, VA.

The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Intermediate Care Unit - Cornell 1 : The Telemetry / Stroke Unit at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. Cornell 1 also cares for TIA, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases that stepdown from ICU. This 30-bed unit sees a ratio of 1 : 5 with mixed patient acuity levels and is well supported with additional patient care technicians, educators, and a strong leadership team.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or
  • MSN (Preferred)
  • Certification / Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Experience

  • 18 Months of acute care RN experience(required)
  • Previous healthcare experience (required)
  • Experience in Stroke / Tele preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
