We are seeking an Assistant Landscape Designer to join our team in our Thousand Oaks, California office just north of Los Angeles. The Assistant Landscape Designer will be working under the direction of our Principal Landscape Architects and engage in all aspects of the project life cycle. The position is responsible for assisting in the design process as well as drafting, cost-estimating, budgeting, and code research. The candidate should thrive on diversity and variety of projects as well as on maintaining professional relationships with clients and consultants. Our staff is customer service focused, well organized and detail oriented. An ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment is essential to success.

Description :

  • Involvement in all phases of projects from schematic design to construction administration.
  • Responsible for construction document preparation and management.
  • Communicate effectively and responsively with clients, consultants, design team and vendors.
  • Job costing, budgeting and bid review
  • Code research, compliance and permitting
  • Work with Principal and staff to complete projects timely
  • Review work of junior staff

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 5 years plus of related experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, LandFX, MS Office, Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, (SketchUp, Rhino or Lumion a plus).
  • Construction detailing.
  • Excellent knowledge of West Coast plants.
  • Strong communications skills – written and oral.
  • Experience and passion for designing outdoor living environments.
  • Residential and / or small-scale experience is a plus.
  • Excellent design sensibility as well as technical aptitude.
  • Driver with car and current license / insurance.
  • This position is full time and will offer a salary commensurate with experience.
