Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit :
Established in 1985 by Frank Hawkins Kenan, the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise is a nonpartisan business policy think tank affiliated with the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. The nonprofit institute and its affiliated centers convene leaders from the private sector, academic community and government to build a greater understanding of how entrepreneurship, economic development and global commerce can work for the public good. The institute leverages best-in-class research to develop market-based solutions to today’s most complex economic challenges. In doing so, the institute aims to support businesses and policies that better the lives of people in North Carolina, across the country and around the world.
Position Summary :
The Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking to hire a qualified individual at the academic rank of Adjunct Professor, Adjunct Associate Professor, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Adjunct Instructor, or Professor of the Practice; depending on education and experience.
The successful candidate will be a creative and effective teacher capable of contributing to the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
Qualifications must be appropriate for the level, discipline, and topic of each course taught. Qualifications may consist of academic credentials (e.g., earned degrees or completed coursework) or alternative credentials (e.g., related professional experience or demonstrated competency) or a combination of these credentials. An earned master’s degree from an accredited institution, or the equivalent, is required. The qualifying degree should be in the same discipline or one closely related to the subject matter of the course to be taught.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience :
An earned doctorate or terminal degree in the same or closely related discipline as the course to be taught is preferred. Experience and / or expertise in a business setting that relates to the subject matter of the course to be taught is strongly preferred. Experience teaching graduate-level business courses is strongly preferred.
