Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Transportation) (Kennesaw)

NOVA Engineering's Kennesaw, GA office has an immediate opening for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with our transportation division. The Senior Engineer is responsible for client development, technical execution and project management of work related to Geotechnical Engineering services, both office and field activities, during the planning, design, and construction phases of projects.

Specifically, the position responsibilities will include :

• Preparing and executing geotechnical reports and other client correspondence
• Providing oversight, QA / QC, analysis, laboratory testing and field services as required to meet our Clients expectations as projects advance to construction
• Client consultation and maintenance
• Preparation of proposals and contract documents (under the supervision of a Senior Technical Professional)
• Geotechnical engineering or construction Quality Assurance Inspection / Testing duties, including data reduction, analysis & fieldwork for commercial, transportation, industrial, retail, government, office, residential projects;
• Project management & reporting;
• Assisting with advanced geotechnical calculations (foundation capacity, seismic considerations, liquefaction, etc)
• Providing assistance to other NOVA team members to promote the overall objectives of the company.

Requirements :

The position may require the ability to lift and / or move 35-100 pounds occasionally, and the candidate must be able to accomplish field tasks under adverse weather and / or site conditions. The working environment can be moderately noisy to loud in nature, and some assignments may require working in confined spaces or climbing and working at above average heights. The candidate may be exposed to humidity, high temperatures, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Good vision and manual dexterity are required.
