Glove Specialist

Job Description MetroSys is seeking a highly skilled Glove Specialist with engineering or technical expertise to support the inspection, diagnosis, and improvement of glovebox systems across a complex facility.

With over 400 gloveboxes in operation, this role is critical for ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of glovebox glove types, material performance, and failure modes.

They will lead initiatives to identify root causes of glove failures, recommend corrective actions, and support glove selection and integration processes.

Key Responsibilities Evaluate and select appropriate glovebox gloves based on application, material compatibility, and performance criteria.

Diagnose glove failures, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Collaborate with safety, engineering, and operations teams to improve glovebox system reliability.

Maintain and improve the glove inspection and maintenance process across all glovebox units.

Support procurement and qualification of glove materials and vendors.

Document glove performance data and maintain standards for glove replacement cycles.

Provide training and guidance to glovebox users on proper handling and usage techniques.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent hands-on technical experience).

Experience working with glovebox systems in nuclear, pharmaceutical, or chemical processing environments.

Knowledge of glove materials (e.g., Hypalon, Neoprene, Butyl) and standards such as ASTM or ISO.

Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Prior DOE or regulated facility experience is highly desirable.
