VMG is looking for an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead commercial mechanical construction projects in the Charleston, SC area. This role requires a hands-on leader who can run the job site from start to finish - coordinating crews, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality, and keeping work on track. The ideal candidate is someone who understands both the field and the bigger picture, taking ownership much like a Project Manager in the field.

Responsibilities

Lead daily mechanical field operations and manage crew performance.

Oversee installation of HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure quality and code compliance.

Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to keep the project on schedule.

Work closely with Project Managers and General Contractors to maintain alignment and communication.

Identify field challenges early and provide practical solutions to keep projects moving forward.

Conduct job site safety meetings and enforce company safety standards.

Track progress, update reports, and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

Represent VMG professionally with clients, partners, and vendors on site.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction.

Proven ability to lead and manage field teams effectively.

Strong working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, mechanical drawings, and specifications.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
