Job Summary :
Under the immediate supervision of the Title III Congregate Meals Assistant, performs work of routine difficulty in assisting with planning, organizing, preparing, cooking, shopping for groceries, and delivery of meals for the Senior / Elderly members of the Kaibab Paiute Tribe. May intermittently have occasions where assistant may cook meals solo.

Status : Permanent, Part-time (Up to 29 hours / week) / No Benefits
Salary : $15.00 / hour
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assist in preparing and cooking foods following a planned menu
- Clean kitchen area, cooking equipment, utensils, and surrounding areas to maintain sanitation requirements
- Serve meals, either in-person or delivery to homes
- Store food in the designated area
- Shop for groceries and household supplies as needed to support program activities.
- Assist with ordering food and supplies for upcoming events or ongoing program needs.
- Attend meetings and training related to health safety requirements for food preparation
- Assist in coordinating training focused on elder issues
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
Knowledge of the proper use and cleaning procedures for institutional food preparation equipment. Knowledge of the menu selection processKnowledge of the principles of healthy eatingSkill in maintaining sufficient food suppliesSkill in interacting with othersAbility to follow oral and written instructionsKnowledge of proper attire and hygiene for a food service environmentAbility to work up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week, as determined by workloadOne (1) year of experience preparing and cooking food; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceHigh School Diploma or GEDPossess a valid state drivers licenseSupplemental Requirements :
Incumbent may be required to attend training to be CPR and First Aid CertifiedIncumbent must have a Food Handlers Permit; if not, obtain a permit within 1 month of hireThe Kaibab Paiute Tribe abides by the Indian Preference Act.
