Program Overview
The Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship is a structured, full-time, 12-month advanced training program designed for recent PA graduates or early-career Physician Assistants who want to build specialized expertise in orthopedic surgery.
This fellowship provides a robust transition from PA school to clinical practice in a high-volume, high-acuity surgical setting. Fellows gain extensive experience working alongside attending orthopedic surgeons, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers—developing advanced skills in diagnostics, surgery, and patient care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Clinical Training
Operative experience across orthopedic subspecialties (trauma, sports medicine, joints, spine, hand, foot & ankle)First-assist responsibilities in the OR, plus pre- and post-operative patient managementOutpatient exposure including fracture care, injections, and follow-up visitsEmergency department consultations and inpatient orthopedic managementDaily rounds and multidisciplinary case discussionsEducational Components
