Museum Educator - Part Time

Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) is at the beginning of a long path toward building a diverse, equitable, accessible and inclusive (DEAI) institution. Role Overview

The Museum Educators lead and facilitate a range of programs including team-building workshops, PreK–12 workshops (onsite and offsite), studio art experiences, guided tours, and other offerings for both youth and adult audiences. These programs integrate art making, wellness, and horticulture, and are designed to engage schools, teachers, families, and private and corporate groups.

Serving as an ambassador, the Museum Educator is a key point of contact for visiting groups. They are expected to deliver inclusive, welcoming, and meaningful experiences that encourage creativity, observation, experimentation, and reflection, while being responsive to the diverse needs and interests of participants.

The Museum Educator reports to the Manager of School and Group Visits and works collaboratively across the Education Department and with staff across the museum to support shared goals and uphold a culture of respect, inclusion, and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitate tours and interactive workshops for PreK–12 students and other youth, including scout and community groups, both onsite and offsite, follows and develops curriculum based that is developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and engaging for diverse learners.
• Lead and facilitate team-building workshops for corporate and private groups, fostering inclusive group dynamics and creative collaboration.
• Design and lead family programs that welcome participation across generations, identities, and abilities, centering accessibility and shared engagement in the arts.
• Facilitate professional development workshops for educators, incorporating inclusive teaching strategies, reflective practice, and connections to diverse curricula.
• Serve as an ambassador by modeling a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for  visitors, including members, donors, volunteers, and guests.
