Job Title : Immigration Associate Attorney

Job Overview :

A law firm based in Houston, TX, is seeking a driven Immigration Associate Attorney to support its mission-driven legal practice focused exclusively on immigration matters. This opportunity offers meaningful client engagement, exposure to both family-based and humanitarian immigration law, and participation in a collaborative team environment that values ethical advocacy and work-life balance.

Duties :

  • Conduct legal consultations with prospective clients and provide clear guidance on immigration options and eligibility.
  • Represent individuals and families in various immigration matters, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and employment-based processes.
  • Prepare and review petitions, applications, and supporting documentation for submission to USCIS, EOIR, NVC, and other immigration agencies.
  • Participate in hearings and interviews before immigration courts and agencies.
  • Provide leadership on case strategy while collaborating with paralegals and support staff.
  • Stay current with immigration law updates and attend regular firmwide legal and skills training sessions.
  • Contribute to firm growth by supporting marketing initiatives aligned with language fluency or community needs.
  • Assist with mentoring and knowledge sharing among junior team members, when appropriate.

Requirements :

  • Active U.S. license to practice law (any state or jurisdiction).
  • 2-5 years of experience in immigration law, with proven success in client consultation and representation.
  • High level of empathy and a strong commitment to client service and integrity.
  • Ability to manage a dynamic caseload in a fast-paced but supportive environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Education :

    Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

    Certifications :

    Admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing.

    Skills :

  • Proficiency in conducting legal analysis and preparing high-quality immigration filings.
  • Strong client engagement and interpersonal communication.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish or other language fluency highly beneficial.
  • Technologically adept with the ability to navigate case management systems and virtual communication tools.
  • Job Location : Houston, TX
