General Profile

  • Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
  • Works with close supervision
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Essential Functions

  • Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Ensures all work performed meets required safety codes and is properly inspected.
  • Uses a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
  • Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
  • Replaces conduit, wiring and circuit breakers as needed.

    • Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience : Vocational / Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & / or Experience

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience : Associate's Degree
  • Discipline / Major : Technical training preferred
  • Additional certifications : Typically requires an Electrician's license granted by state
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities : Electrical Wiring Installation. Install Electrical Services. Reading Blueprints / Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Troubleshooting Electrical Codes

    • Physical Requirements

  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and / or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.

    • Travel Requirements

    $41,811.00 - $77,649.00
