Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A School-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed for the 2025-2026 school year in Rockford, IL. This contract position offers both full-time and part-time options, with caseloads divided by classrooms. Each SLP or SLPA may serve 2-4 classrooms, depending on employment status, with up to 10 students per classroom.

Our student population ranges from Kindergarten through 12+ years, including transition-aged students. Approximately 60% of the students have Autism as a primary or secondary disability. Student communication abilities vary widelyfrom limited or no verbal skills to beginning AAC users, as well as fluent AAC users and highly verbal studentsproviding a diverse and rewarding caseload.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver speech-language therapy services tailored to individual student needs across various ages and disability levels
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate student records
  • Adapt therapeutic approaches to a wide spectrum of communication abilities

Qualifications :

  • Valid Illinois license as an SLP or SLPA
  • For SLP candidates : Professional Educator's License (PEL) through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
  • Experience or strong interest in pediatrics and school-based speech therapy preferred
