PRESS was born in 2005 as a restaurant whose ethos is to support the food, wine, and people of Napa Valley. Under the leadership of Chef Philip Tessier , the c ulinary t eam draws inspiration from around the globe while staying rooted in the style and ingredients that make the Napa Valley so special.
Over the last 20 years the wine program has grown to its current iteration, representing over 2,700 unique selections from Napa Valley and its vintners. More so, it represents American history. Despite the small fraction of California wine that originates in Napa Valley, the legacy of the region has been, and continues to be, profound. The Grand Award-winning wine list at PRESS is the largest and most extensive restaurant collection of Napa Valley w ines, and offers guests a glimpse into Napa Valley history with vintages going back to the 1930s.
Job Description
The Lead Sommelier position of PRESS Restaurant is the partner to the Beverag e Director, assisting in all aspects of maintaining and evolving a Michelin-starred restaurant and Wine Spectator Grand Award wine program. A successful candidate must be well-organized and competent in guest relations, vendor relations, and cellar management. The Lead Sommelier is a person who can self-manage their daily workload .
