Birch Agency, a nationally recognized company in educational services, is looking for a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to join our team in South San Francisco, CA! We have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special needs, and we are hiring like-minded professionals to be part of our team.

Job Details : South San Francisco,

Full-time

Start : ASAP

Pay starting at $55 / hr

Responsibilities :

Test and monitor hearing levels

Test and monitor hearing aid settings

Assess and monitor functional hearing levels

Assess full range of communication and language levels including use of sign, spoken language, and any additional modes of communication

Assess and monitor educational outcomes

Fitting and monitoring listening devices

Provide proper testing accommodations

Provide suggestions for classroom modifications to better service students needs

Provide curriculum instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students

Provide support for language development and written language

Enhance listening ability

Troubleshoot personal FM equipment

Consult with school staff and provide training as necessary regarding hearing loss, amplification systems, and strategies to help students succeed

Interpret audiological information

Qualifications :

Bachelors or Masters degree in Education

Deaf / Hard of Hearing Teaching Certificate

American Sign Language / English Sign Language experience
