Responsibilities Position is in the Family Birth Center within an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 3 birthing rooms, patient ratios ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 4 Patient population includes laboring mothers and newborns, averaging 150-175 births per year 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required Travel nurse is first to float and may occasionally assist with MedSurg tasks if L&D is full Cerner EMR is used in the unit Nurses may be the primary L&D nurse on-site and may attend to newborns during C-sections with support from RT and anesthesia Floors provide at least 2 days of orientation per floated unit, based on experience and comfort level Travelers participate in the permanent staff holiday rotation Ceil blue scrubs are required and will be provided by the hospital Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique test may be required as part of the hiring or onboarding process Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required Certifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring COVID vaccine required as part of compliance Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-613763.
