Prefabrication / Cold-Form Metal Framing Lead

Overview
A leading interiors and façade contractor is seeking an experienced Prefabrication / Cold-Form Metal Framing Lead to oversee the installation and rigging of prefabricated cold-form metal systems.
This position suits an experienced tradesperson - ideally from a drywall or carpentry background - with extensive knowledge of load-bearing metal framing, exterior sheathing systems, and prefabrication installation . Candidates from the external framing or steel industries with relevant rigging qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
Role Summary
You’ll take ownership of prefabricated framing installation , coordinating between the fabrication yard and site installation teams. The role demands both technical and leadership capability - ensuring structural accuracy, safety compliance, and the efficient delivery of prefabricated metal systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee installation of cold-formed steel / metal prefabricated framing and sheathing systems
- Manage and perform rigging and lifting operations in compliance with safety standards (must be qualified banksman / rigger)
- Coordinate between prefabrication facility, logistics, and on-site erection teams
- Read and interpret structural and shop drawings for load-bearing systems
- Supervise framing crews or subcontractors, maintaining quality and efficiency
- Conduct inspections, maintain quality documentation, and ensure tolerance compliance
- Promote safe working practices and enforce rigging / lifting protocols
- Liaise with engineers, project management, and site supervision to resolve technical challenges
- Support continuous improvement and innovation in prefabrication and installation methods
Essential Skills & Experience
Trade background : Carpenter, Drywall Installer, or Metal Framer by tradeProven experience in cold-form metal framing and prefabrication installationRigging / Banksman certification (required)Hands-on understanding of load-bearing metal construction and structural assemblyAble to read, interpret, and build to technical drawingsStrong understanding of exterior framing and sheathing systemsDemonstrated leadership ability in supervising installation teamsExcellent safety awareness and compliance with lifting / rigging standardsFlexible with travel and able to work between prefabrication yard and active sitesPreferred Background
