Position Objective
To provide skilled communication by receiving requests and transmitting information for emergency and non-emergency assistance within the County. This position is responsible for maintaining efficient communications between the public, law enforcement and other public safety agencies.

The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed approximately 100% of the time indoors. Will have infrequent exposure to health hazards and accidents; requires a low level of physical effort. Work is performed under the general supervision of the PST Sergeant.
Hours of Work
Shift work, including weekends, nights and holidays with rotating days off.
Compensation & Benefits
The Public Safety Telecommunicator position is compensated at salary grade 108 of the Goodhue County pay scale.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to mandatory in-person audio testing on August 20th , with sessions available at 10 : 00 a.m. or 6 : 30 p.m. Confirmation of testing will be sent out by August 15th. Testing will take place at the Goodhue County Government Center, Room 308, 509 W 5th Street, Red Wing, MN.
Following the in-person testing, applicants must complete an online assessment within one week. Those with the highest scores will be invited to an interview, with the date to be announced.
Top-ranked candidates will be required to complete a 2–4-hour sit-in at our Emergency Communications Center before receiving a conditional job offer. Final appointment is contingent on passing a job-specific physical, drug screening, and an extensive background investigation, all conducted at the county's expense.
