Description :

This position involves working in a 34-bed adult medical-surgical unit.

The unit operates with a day shift staff of 1 Charge Nurse, 6-7 RNs, 3 CNAs, and 1 HUC.

Night shift typically has 1 Charge Nurse, 5-7 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC.

Patient ratios on day shifts range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 6.

On night shifts, the ratio is 1 : 5 to 1 : 7.

The equipment used includes EMR systems and standard telemetry monitoring tools.

Typical procedures on the unit include IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics.

Ideal candidates should demonstrate teamwork by assisting CNAs and other nurses as needed.

Attendance at shift huddles is mandatory at the beginning of each shift.

Meal breaks should be clocked in and out.

Shift timings have specific clock-in requirements.

Staff is expected to work every other weekend or a minimum of 6 weekend shifts each pay period.
