Overview

Event Technician, Audio Visual - Hotel Polaris at Encore. A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring customer satisfaction. Reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation : Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
  • Customer Service : Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup works properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; foster hotel / client relationships.
  • Technical Ability : Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Systems Knowledge : Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike; interact with staff and outside vendors; utilize floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Internal applicants must meet all training and certification requirements per Encore’s Global Learning Training Program in their current position and for the position applied to. Review requirements at the provided link.
  • External applicants must meet / validate and complete all training and certifications required for this position within one year; see career path link for technical requirements.
  • 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

    • Physical & Work Environment

    Physical requirements : ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, crawl, kneel, bend, reach, climb, grasp for varying durations; lifting / carrying; auditory / visual demands; pushing / pulling as described. Reasonable accommodations available if needed. Work environment includes hotel / convention center and warehouse / event venues, with irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. May work at multiple locations and be exposed to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust; potential heights via lifts and ladders.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Hourly Pay Range : $18.81 - $20.33. Final compensation based on location, travel, experience, and skills; some positions may include overtime, bonuses, or incentives. Benefits options are available; details provided by Encore.
