Summary :

Educate, counsel, and support students in the career development process for students before and during job search in the U.S. job market. These duties encompass a wide range of responsibilities that ensure the smooth operation of a university career center and support the career development of students.

Job Responsibilities :

Support Career Development Programs :

  • Support the development and delivery of career strategies courses, providing students with essential job search skills through interactive workshops, presentations, and personalized guidance.
  • Conduct Training or Assist in implementing career development programs, providing students with essential job search skills through interactive workshops, presentations, and career strategies classes to develop employability skills for students in professional job search topics.
  • Offer creative feedback for ongoing development of course materials. Assist with instructional design for modules or courses.

Support Students :

  • Provide personalized 1 : 1 career coaching session to students, offering tailored advice and resources to support their professional development and job search strategies.
  • Conduct mock interviews, review resumes and cover letters and coach students about job search techniques.
  • Provide professional referral services for any student requiring extended treatment for social, personal, or psychiatric problems.
  • Support Events and Meetings : Assist in organizing and supporting events and meetings held by the Career Center including webinars, employer visits and visitor weekends.

    Maintain Records :

  • Keep accurate records of student and employer information related to internships and work-study.
  • Perform data entry tasks such as final interview scores and annual rollup (MBA)
  • Use and Manage Office Equipment : Effectively use and manage office equipment such as phones, faxes, and copiers to meet office needs.
  • Special Projects :

    Some additional duties might include working on Special Projects of Career Services and Career Development including but not limited to Resume, Market Research or Applications for streamlining Job Search for MIU students including Handshake or similar tools.

    Perform other Office administrative duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements :

  • Good communication skills
  • Good understanding of MBA (Accounting and ERP) Job Market
  • Passion for being up to date with emerging Jobs and Market trends
  • ERP (especially SAP knowledge preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent people skills to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Must be an advanced user of Word, Excel, and the Internet as a resource.
  • Preferred Requirements :

  • Job Search Training or Coaching experience (Preferred)
  • Accounting MBA
  • SAP knowledge (User or Admin experience)
  • 2-3 years coaching and training experience
  • Education :

  • Master’s degree – MBA (Finance or ERP system) preferred. Masters in the field of administration, management or sustainability are welcome to apply.
  • OR

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4-5 years of US work experience.
  • Level :

    Works independently and demonstrates intermediate knowledge of planning, organization and facilitating skills.
