We are looking for a Board-Certified General Surgeon for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in southern California, near Santa Monica . This position offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient surgical care, with a focus on providing high-quality services to patients in a scenic coastal area. Position Details : Location : Near Santa Monica, California Start Date : January 1, 2025 End Date : Ongoing Coverage Type : Scheduled clinical hours with call coverage Shift Details : Monday through Friday (8 AM to 5 PM), with night and weekend beeper call On-Call Requirements : Beeper call, usually one call per day; rarely requires a physical visit to the facility Specialty Focus : General Surgery with a focus on Oncology Breast Surgery Surgeries required : Lumpectomy, mastectomies (including nipple-sparing mastectomy), sentinel node biopsy, and axillary dissection Experience : Providers must have extensive experience in breast surgery and be comfortable handling both high-risk and benign breast disease Key Responsibilities : Provide inpatient and outpatient surgical care Perform a variety of general surgery procedures, with a strong focus on breast oncology Collaborate in joint oncoplastic surgeries as needed Handle both scheduled and emergency surgical cases Required Certifications : Board Certification in General Surgery BLS certification California State Medical License (or eligibility) Additional Information : EMR System : Epic Estimated Credentialing Timeframe : 60-90 days No travel reimbursement for licensing or credentialing Fellowship in breast surgery preferred, but general surgeons with extensive breast surgery experience will also be considered This is a great opportunity for a general surgeon seeking a long-term locum assignment in a beautiful and desirable location near Santa Monica, California.
