Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient Director to join our Tax Advisory Services group. The Director of the Tax Planning & Compliance (TPC) team leads the strategic execution of the Tax Advisory practice. This role serves as a trusted advisor to high-value clientsentrepreneurs, executives, and family officesdelivering tailored tax planning, compliance, and wealth strategies. The Director oversees engagement delivery, ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, and a high-touch client experience. Responsibilities include managing team performance, mentoring staff, driving innovation through technology, and collaborating with firm leadership on financial planning and client development. This position requires deep tax expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to the firm's values and growth vision.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the TPC team and lead its execution aligned with senior leadership.
- Serve as a leadership advisor for high-value clients, delivering personalized tax planning, compliance oversight, and integrated wealth strategies.
- Oversee client service delivery to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and a high-touch experience.
- Deliver high-quality tax advisory services to entrepreneurial businesses and high-achieving individuals, including founders, executives, and family offices.
- Design and implement innovative tax strategies that align with client goals, ensuring compliance while optimizing tax outcomes.
- Monitor engagement performance, including realization, utilization, and profitability, and take proactive steps to improve efficiency and value delivery.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on billing arrangements, client onboarding, and engagement economics.
- Partner with Operations & Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning for your book of business.
- Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development across the tax team.
- Develop high-potential talent and prepare them for future leadership roles.
- Ensure engagement compliance with firm policies, risk protocols, and quality standards.
- Use technology and analytics to streamline tax workflows, enhance insights, and boost efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the Senior Managers and Managers of the Tax Planning & Compliance Group.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA or EA designation.1015 years of progressive tax experience, including significant exposure to high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and multi-entity structures.Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, including experience with S corporations, partnerships, and trusts.Proven ability to manage client relationships, lead teams, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and concisely.Exhibits strong leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on team growth and collaboration.Willingness to work an average of 4850 hours per week.Brings strong analytical skills and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with a solutions-oriented mindset.Strong values aligned with our Culture (Fairness, Honesty, Trustworthy, Respectful, Flexible, Strong Work Ethic).Team player with a strong desire to be an active, long-term participant in the overall growth of the Firm.Entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to Firm's vision.Must be commutable to either the Philadelphia, PA or Wilmington, DE office locations for events and meetings.Ability and willingness to work in a Siegfried office as required for an average of four days per week (or more) in accordance with Siegfried's then-current policy. Master's degree in Taxation, JD or a related advanced credential.Prior experience at a Big 4 or leading regional accounting / advisory firm.Proficiency in preparing and reviewing S Corporation and trust tax returns.Familiarity with sales and use tax compliance and advisory matters.Demonstrated ability to develop tax positions and provide strategic guidance to clients on complex tax issues.Experience advising on business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and entity restructuring.Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement platforms or similar tax compliance / workflow systems.FLSA / At-Will Employment
