YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY
The Engineering Team Lead is an engineering management position responsible for providing technical engineering oversight and design team management for engineering projects. This role handles financial, resource allocation, logistic and technical leadership, and can mentor staff. You will work on tenant fit-outs for Data Center / Mission Critical projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Possess the ability to understand project requirements and develop a design fee for the work requested.
- Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources.
- Oversee Engineers, Designers and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work.
- Communicate with the Project Manager (PM) or Executive regarding effort required to accomplish deliverables, including developing requests for additional services for submittal to PM or Owner.
- Lead the Engineering CAC effort and interaction with the project PM.
- Resolve a variety of complex problems (e.g., conflicting design requirements, material suitability, coordination challenges).
- Supervise coordination with city, state, and county officials and other regulatory agencies.
- Attend project design meetings with the overall Design Build Team.
- Perform job site visits to review installation or assess current conditions.
- Act as Engineer of Record for projects within their responsibility.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of Electrical Engineering "tenant fit-out" experience.Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required for this position.Field experience is strongly recommended.Education and experience can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.COMPETENCIES
Power Distribution & Systems : Deep knowledge of critical power infrastructure, including transformers, switchgear, paralleling switchgear, UPS, battery strings, and diesel generators.Load Management : Ability to calculate and balance electrical loads to prevent oversubscription and equipment failure.Design & Modeling : Proficiency in designing and specifying electrical systems, creating detailed electrical diagrams (single-line diagrams), and performing load flow, short circuit, and coordination studies using software like or .Standards & Codes : Thorough understanding and practical application of industry standards, electrical codes, and regulations for safe and compliant designs.Strong ability to interpret electrical and mechanical SLDs, construction drawings, and data center terminology.Software Proficiency : Skill in using electrical design software or other relevant tools.WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Knowledge of engineering processes and calculations including load calculations, equipment layout, distribution, HV / MV distribution, lighting, grounding, value engineering, and applicable codes and standards.Working knowledge of equipment testing and commissioning.Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others.Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems.Capability to oversee Electrical System Studies such as Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop / Droop, and Underground Thermal Calculations.Management skills including work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, and career development planning.Knowledge of electrical construction to understand how design packages will be built.Fluency with Building and Local Codes in project areas.Proficiency with computer use and Microsoft Office; Oracle preferred.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing requirements and time constraints.Effective oral and written communication and teamwork abilities.Professional demeanor when interacting with all levels of staff, vendors, clients, and partners.TRAVEL
