Project Manager – K-12 Construction
Location : Traveling Project Manager

Reports To : Senior Project Manager or Project Executive
Position Overview
The Project Manager (PM) will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of K-12 education construction projects , ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual serves as the primary point of contact between the Owner, Architect, and Field Operations , managing all phases from pre-construction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Oversee all phases of new school construction, additions, and major renovations.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, subcontracts, and procurement strategies.
- Lead weekly Owner / Architect / Contractor (OAC) meetings and maintain detailed meeting minutes.
- Coordinate with site superintendents to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications through project management software.
- Ensure compliance with district standards, local code, and TEA / TAS / TASB requirements.
- Drive turnover and warranty completion with a strong focus on client satisfaction.
Pre-Construction & Estimating
Participate in pre-construction planning, budgeting, and design coordination.Prepare detailed project scopes, value-engineering options, and bid packages.Collaborate with estimating and design teams to align drawings and budgets.Financial Management
Track project costs, budgets, and forecasts.Review subcontractor billings, general conditions, and monthly Owner pay apps.Work closely with accounting to manage project cash flow and profitability.Team & Client Relations
Build strong relationships with district representatives, architects, and subcontractors.Mentor assistant project managers, project engineers, and interns.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).5–10+ years of experience managing commercial or K-12 construction projects.Proven track record delivering ground-up schools, additions, and campus renovations .Strong understanding of CMAR, JOC, and competitive bid delivery methods.Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Excel .Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.OSHA 30 certification preferred.Typical Project Profile
