Description : I. Summary
The RN should demonstrate knowledge of new trends and techniques in nursing. He / she should demonstrate the appropriate level of competence in administering care to pediatric, geriatric, medical, surgical and trauma patients and be dedicated to bedside nursing. The nurse will also be responsible for the care of psychiatric patients awaiting admission to the state hospital. He / she should work efficiently and effectively with others possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy. He / she should demonstrate leadership, teaching ability and possess the ability to work under pressure.

IV. Education and / or Experience
Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing with a current license from the State of Mississippi. Current certification in Basic Life Support and recommended Advance Life Support and Pediatric Life Support certification.
V. Skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportion s, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
