Company Overview :
A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join their team. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and troubleshooting control systems for automated equipment to ensure projects meet cost, quality, safety, and timing requirements.
Position Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and document control systems for various types of automated equipment
- Conduct electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic design, as well as peripheral device programming
- Program machine PLCs and coordinate with build, power, and design teams for machine debug, power-up, and validation
- Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to customer and company specifications using standard techniques and approaches
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in automated systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful project execution
- Travel to customer sites for equipment installation, commissioning, and startup as required
Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or related field preferred)3–5+ years of applicable experience in automation and control systemsProficiency in programming languages including PLC, robotics, and vision systems, with experience integrating peripheral devicesExperience in an engineered-to-order environment preferredStrong troubleshooting skills for automated equipment hardware and softwareExcellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilitiesWhy Join Us?
