The Banquet Houseman is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down meeting rooms and banquet areas according to hotel standards. This role supports the banquet team by ensuring event spaces are clean, organized, and properly equipped, including basic knowledge and assistance with audio-visual equipment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Set up meeting rooms and banquet spaces according to event specifications (tables, chairs, linens, staging, etc.).
- Assist with audio-visual equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of all meeting and event areas before, during, and after functions.
- Break down and reset rooms promptly and efficiently following events.
- Maintain storage areas, ensuring equipment and supplies are neatly stored and readily accessible.
- Safely handle, transport, and store banquet furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Communicate with banquet captains, catering managers, and event staff to fulfill client requests and ensure smooth event execution.
- Follow safety, sanitation, and hotel operational policies at all times.
Qualifications :
Previous experience in banquet, event setup, or hospitality preferred.Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment (projectors, microphones, sound systems, etc.).Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy furniture and equipment.Strong organizational and communication skills.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
